Roy Nichols, the Guitarman played his last show with Merle Haggard and The Strangers on February 22,1987. In February of 1996 he suffered a stroke leaving him partially paralyzed and unable to do the one thing he loved the most, playing the guitar. Roy Nichols passed away July 3, 2001. [Even though this isn't a Buddy question, I'll answer it anyway. (Roy Nichols was one of my personal lead guitar heroes!)] My best, Ernie http://www.buddyemmons.com
