Witches Brew came about by accident while playing a Travis/Atkins song with an Echoplex. When I eliminated the melody I was playing, the delay setting I had allowed a unique rhythm sound by playing the bass note first and adding the 3rd and 5th intervals on the second beat. I never thought of it as anything more than a rhythm pattern until I later used a wah-wah pedal with it and started moving the notes around on the bass strings. When the notes I used repeated between the beats, a melody was formed and I turned it into an instrumental.
