Moving to the pockets and stirring it up is what it's all about. When Jimmy Day added the E to the middle of the tuning, it allowed a major scale up to the 6th interval without moving the bar. When I added the F# and D#, that made it possible to complete the scale and beyond to the 9th interval. So, depending on which interval of the scale you start, you can cover two octaves and beyond without stopping. Before those two additions, chords dominated most of our solos.
