Studio Noise

Buddy you mentioned you had to take different equipment to the studio trying to cut down on the noise. Wouldn't the studios in Nashville have some type of noise gates built into the board or the room as this must be a problem they would face everyday with guys bringing in different equipment. I use a Boss SE70 and I turn the noise gate up just enought to take it out, it does affect the sound a little when I do that, but is better than the hissing and humming. (Maybe the humming is really me, being picked up by the pickup, I have a loud voice.)
