Hi Buddy, this is Joe. First, this is a great page; I really appreciate your willingness to share your knowledge with us. Iīm always interested in the history of the PSG. I know that the first knee lever, like on the early ShoBuds, lowered the 8th string E to Eb and the 2nd Eb to D. Some years later it seemed to become standard to lower the 4th string as well (and still is). There has been a thread on the Forum about how important it really is, but I still havenīt found any information about when exactly the 4th string lower was invented. Was it your idea? Did it start with the Emmons guitars or was it already on some early (permanent) ShoBuds? From some of the recordings of the early ī60s that Iīve heard of you or Buddy Charleton, itīs really hard to tell if itīs there or not! Could you please shed some light on this? Thanks a lot, J.H.
