Recording dry isn't quite as restrictive as it may sound, as the engineer can always send a reverb return in the headphones. I was given a unique type of delay once and discovered I liked it better than reverb and used it for years. My listening habits are different these days so the new country music is out and I catch most of my jazz from a local FM station. One of my favorites is still guitarist Pat Martino.
