That picture was taken when Billy Byrd and I were living in California and working for Gordon Terry at the Foothill Club in Long beach, California. Gordon played fiddle for Faron Young and started his own career as a recording artist in the late fifties. I was at the Fender plant mooching an amplifier and guitar. My fondest memory of the Foothill gig was being able to catch Wynn Stewart and Ralph Mooney at George's Roundup a mile or two down the road.
