Nick: Nick: I played a birdseye maple guitar for a short time but the rest have been Formica. I've always preferred black Formica because that was my choice of finish when I designed the Emmons guitar. As for sound, my rosewood P/P has been a good guitar, but my black P/Ps have been as good or better.
