The Timbre and Tone control are very important in tailoring the Dobro sound to the amp settings you normally use. Without the two, you have to adjust the amp to make up for them. I'm not familiar with the later models but the originals had the Match Box circuitry in the off position. Thanks for the Jamboree comments. I heard the archive of the Johnny Bush show and it sounded like I was plugged into a goose, so I have a lot of making up to do for that tone.
