Variation in Amp Tone

Buddy, this question may have been asked previously but if so, I missed reading it. When practicing steel in my music room I frequently detect a change in tone from one day to the next altho' the amp settings have not been touched. While I have come to expect this while doing one-night gigs where the dynamics change from one room to another, I am puzzled as to why this occurs in a setting where nothing has changed. Do you have any insights about this? I have speculated that it may be caused by changing atmospheric conditions, time of day, a gradual hearing loss, etc. I want to express appreciation for the time you are devoting to sharing your knowledge and experience on a vast array of topics. Thanks a bunch!
