TAB FROM BUDDY:

Steel Guitar Work-shop

This is from one of Buddy's "Steel Guitar Work-Shop" columns from Guitar Player magazine.
The tab is copied directly from the column.

C6 Tuning (with a high G)

TEXT FROM COLUMN:  Below is a diagram for the four bar ending in the key of C. It incorporates both melody and bass line. It can be used to end any tune from slow blues to moderate up tempo and uses pedals 5, 6, 7 and 8.

(The original text said pedal 9. Buddy had an additional pedal and had moved pedal 8 to the 9 position. His pedal 8 was the same as pedal 9, but didn’t raise the 7/C to C#.)

I’m trying to give equal time to both E 9th and C 6th as they are the two most popular tunings. With the use of knee levers and pedal combinations, tuning changes are becoming more and more sophisticated and will be included in this column as they become more widely used and accepted.
