Their chord progressions and harmonies are fairly jazz-derived and they have a sly sense of humor that seems right up your alley. They got going in LA in the early 70s when you were still out there (I believe)... On the first few albums they had some pedal steel alongside players like Ray Brown, Phil Woods, and Victor Feldman. Their steelman is Jeff "Skunk" Baxter who later joined the Doobie Bros. and has since become a missile defense expert (!) Last changed: August 02, 2015 |
