I use only two picks but I've found definite advantages to three and four fingers. I can do more by adding a third finger but I've spent over fifty years devoting my technique to the standard method so I can only use it as an extension of what I normally play. If you're just starting, the sky's the limit, so I'd say if it feels comfortable and your goals are beyond country music, your method would offer many advantages. It does require a different blocking technique and blocking is major factor. If you can master that, the rest will be up to your imagination. If I were to start that way today, I would consider using no picks. Last changed: August 02, 2015 |
